Main steam (MS) and hot reheat (HRH) pipelines on the combined-cycle plant-419 power unit at “Sredneuralskaya HPP” are made of heat-resistant steel grade X10CrMoVNb9-1 (P91). This steel is used in the modern CCP power units with steam temperature parameters up to 600 degrees.During the planned maintenance period Operations Department detected a wormhole on the main steam and hot reheat pipeline cut-in section. The wormhole formed on the P91 pipeline 88,9x5,49 at the heat-affected zone.
TEK-Consulting specialists implemented the following solution:
- Repair of the wormhole by welding in accordance with the welding technology
- Strengthening welded area by the building-up welding technology
The proposed technology was tested at the TEK-Consulting’s production area and subsequently implemented at the Customer's site.
To the Customer was recommended to replace this site next year.
